It’s interesting, today at the Christian group at uni we discussed what it was about Christianity which made us convert, or stick with it. And no one said it was because of months of in depth invesigation of the historical facts, or by interviewing theologians to gain wise and deep insights. Instead the most common reason was it just made sense.
I think this article brings this forward. As Christians hang with non-Christians God’s Spirit can convict the unbeliever that this lifestyle and these Christian ideas make sense. We don’t neccessarily have to hit people with Doctrinal statements and great apologetics (though there’s obviously benefit in knowing and sharing them), faithfully hanging out with people, showing interest in them, genuinely loving them – along with clear explanation of the gospel at some point – can be enough.
I like this article though. Reminds me that we don’t have to be trying to blurt out “Jesus died for you, and rose… Which of these two ways represents the way you want to live?” to every non Christian we meet. Purposful hanging out, is probably way more meaningful.
