After Sunday’s sermon, which highlighted the sufferings of Christ, I was challenged in a few ways.

1. The sermon showed that our present sufferings are minuscule compared to that which Christ endured (both during his life and particularly on the cross), and I was challenged to suffer more for being a Christian.

2. I was reminded what our attitude to Christ should be. To keep wilfully sinning is basically to join in with those who were tempting and ridiculing Him – which is something pretty vile. But to turn to Christ in full submission and thankfulness, after his severe suffering and sacrifice for us, is completely right.

3. It also showed me more of the greatness and power of Christ’s resurrection. He endured such massive temptation on the cross, only to overcome in a massive way by defeating death.
