FNC is the people at The Factory every Sunday night!
Some people have been at FNC for long time, some are relatively recent members.
Brydie is one of the former…

Name: Brydie G.

What do you do during the week?
I work as a massage therapist part time and study nursing full time at UWS-Hawkesbury.

How long have you been part of FNC?
Its been about 7 years now.

What’s your favourite food?
Love Thai food, eat chocolate every day (or most days) and love dates (the seeded fruit)

How and when did you become a follower of Jesus?
I became a Christian after a little journey…
My parents separated and I asked my bestfriend if I could come to church with her and her family (the Legge family, who were my neighbours).
I went to their church and saw people who were different. People who were loving unconditionally. These people I saw, were caring and different from me. I wanted to be like them.
So I began asking questions about Christians, what it meant to be a Christian. I put two and two together and realised that these people I saw at church were the way they were because they were a Christian.
How do I become like them, I asked.
I asked lots of questions about Christianity over a few months, which led me to giving in to going to youth group with my best friend, and then finally giving in to going to Kyckstart, were it all made sense.
Finally after months of wanting so badly to become a different person, a person like the people I saw at church that first day, I understood what Jesus had done for me, how much he loved me (and it was love I needed), and what I needed to do to give my life to God.
So on the 28/04/2001 at Kyckstart after Al Stuart gave a talk, I turned to my friend Gillian and Chris and said “ I’ve just become a Christian, I understand it!”.
Then I went out to counsellors room, were I meet Larissa (back then, Johnson), who became my bible study leader and mentor and now is like a sister to me.

What’s the best thing about being a Christian?
Knowing that you have the Holy Spirit in you, which comes from God, and through that God can use you and put you in situations for his glory.
That means putting you in situations you would never dream to enter before knowing God.
I think it is amazing to know God uses the weak to do amazing things (we are the weak).
The most peaceful thing, which is the best thing is knowing that although in this world we have to suffer through a loved ones death, and suffer disappointments and worries and stress and illnesses, WE HAVE HOPE! HEAVEN ETERNALLY, that is what makes us strong through the hardness of this world. That is a great thing about being a Christian… we have hope, we have a future!

What are you reading/watching on TV at the moment?
At least once within a Tuesday morning I get excited knowing that All Saints is on tonight!!-Love All Saints.
I’m actually reading at the moment, “I kissed Dating goodbye” (yes, i know… I’ve just never read it before, a couple of years ago when It was really big, I never read it).

What do you like most about FNC?
It teaches truth from Gods word.
The music, I love singing with our family about how amazing our God is.
Going each week and catching up with your brothers and sisters in Christ. The relationships I have formed at FNC are just beautiful. If I need someone to pray with, there is always someone. If I need someone to keep me accountable, there is someone and I value the encouragement of FNC.

What could we do better at FNC?
Ummmm, its so so much what can we do better, but more so I would love to see more interviews/testimonies from people, young and older so we can get to know each other more and more.
I know we have tried this before, but maybe we could try again, in trying to form mentors/ prayer partners.
